Cold weather is especially problematic for pets.     IRRITATION Free Walks   You should bring your pets inside when it begins to get cold.  It can irritate a dog or cat's paws even if she's only gone for a short period, so do not use salt on walks or driveways.  Icy patches are better treated with kitty litter. As well as reducing slip hazards, it is nontoxic for dogs and cats.   Pet-Friendly Antifreeze   Antifreeze can be highly toxic if stored around your home, especially to cats. The taste of antifreeze is sweet to animals, which makes it attractive to them. It can be fatal even if only a minimal amount is consumed.
